FAQ

What are the festival dates and hours?

Fête du Void will be held October 2 & 3, 2020.

Gates open at 8 AM on Friday, October 2nd.

Check back for updated venue and camping information.

Where is Fête du Void located?

The address is 1194 W Santa Fe Rd, Oakdale, La 71463.

Is there a map of the festival?

Yup! The official 2020 map will be released a few weeks before the festival. We will post in on Facebook, Instagram, and The Iceman Special’s website. Download a copy of the festival map to your phone or print a copy of it out before you come.

What should I bring with me?

As the Boy Scouts say, always be prepared! Here’s some pointers on how to enhance your camping experience. Just because we’re camping doesn’t mean we are roughing it.

DON’T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT:

  • Camping gear
  • Tents & Shelters
  • Sleeping Bags & Beds
  • Tarp
  • Cooler and/or water jugs
  • Lantern / flashlight / headlamp (AND extra batteries!)
  • Stainless steel water bottle (or two!) (we will have fresh drinking water on site)
  • Camping chairs, hammocks, tables, and anything else that might help create a comfy home-away-from-home
  • Rain gear (failure to bring it increases the chance of rain)
  • Your favorite hoodie (yes, it CAN get cold in Central LA)
  • Extra socks/shoes/sneakers (take care of your feet and they’ll take care of you!)
  • Rubber boots (in case of rain)
  • Bug spray (we recommend without DEET – be green!)
  • Sunscreen (lots of it)
  • Hat
  • Bandana (in Louisiana, in April, you’re probably going to sweat)
  • Sunglasses
  • trash bags (we strive to be a leave no trace event, and appreciate your help)
  • Toilet paper (we will have, but never hurts to have an extra roll)
  • Flag or balloon to identify your campsite
  • Extra set of keys to keep with you at all times (avoid keeping keys in your car!)
  • Cash to buy food, art, and merch

YOU DON’T NEED IT TO SURVIVE, BUT YOU’LL BE HAPPY YOU HAVE IT:

  • Small luggage lock for your tent (Fête du Void is not responsible for any lost or stolen items)
  • Environmentally friendly soaps and shampoos
  • Smokers—bring an ashtray! Every butt you throw on the ground, someone else has to pick up!
  • Extra wigs (and eyelashes)
  • Blanket (for sitting)
  • Earplugs (for sleeping or saving your precious hearing)
  • Portable speakers or radio
  • Portable cellphone charger
  • A towel (if you want to shower or sunbathe)

Are children allowed at the festival?

Yes, but all children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent at ALL times.

Is there a minimum age requirement?

Fête du Void is an 18 and older event, but those under 21 may not consume alcohol at the festival (local sheriff’s deputies will be stationed at the entrance; don’t make us introduce you to them).

Please note that any attendee over the age of 12 will need a ticket to enter. (see above for the policy about bringing children).

Other Information

Moving Around Inside the Festival

The Hardwood Mill is beautiful spread of land that we are blessed to share with you this year. As with most land in Louisiana, this land is not perfect. With that in mind, we’ve done our best to make the grounds as safe as possible. That is why we highly recommend you stay on the paths, which we have created for you that will be easy to see during the day and lit at night.

We don’t want anyone to get hurt, so PLEASE WATCH YOUR STEP! At night,  you should be using a headlamp or flash light.

Exit & Re-entry

Although Fête du Void is its own little universe, we’re surrounded by the real-world town of Oakdale, Louisiana. With your cooperation we can make sure we’ll be welcomed back in the future. When you’re walking outside the festival grounds, remember that you are Out There— please follow all roadway and pedestrian rules while be respectful of our neighbors and their property. Show them some love.

IN AND OUT OF MAIN VENUE

Want to take a mid-day nap? No problem. Once you check in at the Front Gate, you’re in, which means you can go to your campsite at any time and will only need to present your festival band again if you leave the festival grounds completely.

IN AND OUT OF THE FESTIVAL IN A VEHICLE

We hope you won’t need to leave our little paradise during the festival. But if you do, please wait until Saturday evening, unless there is a serious emergency. It is best to arrive at The Hardwood with enough supplies to last you the whole weekend.

Lost & Found

DURING THE FESTIVAL

Lose something at the festival? Head to the Info Booth (there’s only one) to see if your item has been recovered.

If the Info Booth doesn’t have it, you shouldn’t give up yet! Email us at feteduvoid@gmail.com with LOST ITEM in the subject line and let us know in a message what you’re missing!

Safety & Medical

We make every effort to create a safe and secure environment at Fête du Void. On-site security and medical staff will be available. If you need any assistance, go to the nearest Medical Tent or ask any Fête du Void staff member for assistance.

Medical Services

WHERE: There will be a Medical tent located in Main Venue located next to the Info Booth.

Lots of things can happen at the Void: bee stings, ant bites, whiplash from dancing like Disco. That’s why the Main Venue is home to a Fête du Void Medical Tent, staffed by our medical volunteers.

If you are injured and require further attention, we will have a vehicle on standby to bring you to urgent care or the hospital; if it is a serious injury will call emergency medical services.

Staff

WHERE: You can find a sheriff’s deputy at the Front Gate and our staff roaming through every campground, at the entrance to the Main Venue and at all the stages, as well as throughout all of the Main Venue.

Our staff is trained to help make sure everyone has a good time and stays safe.

All vehicles may be subject to search upon entry to the festival at the Front Gate (which you should definitely keep in mind when deciding what to bring).

Food Safety

Please don’t buy from unlicensed vendors. There is lots of great stuff to buy from official Fête du Void vendors, who deserve your business, because they have made a real commitment to support Fête du Void.

Emergency Vehicle Access

Our road might not look like a city street. But for emergency and maintenance vehicles, it does the job as long as you keep them open. Which is what we ask you to do. Please park in designated areas and don’t drive around the site. Walk on the sides of the road, and please let all official vehicles through.
